Company’s Proposal Delivers Up to 21.4% Top-Rate Wage Increase for Largest Group

Smith’s and Teamsters Local 14 resumed negotiations this week, exchanging counterproposals on contract language, wages, and benefits. When bargaining reconvened on Wednesday, October 1, the Company presented a proposal that included significant wage increases.

10/1 Wage Proposal

  • +9.5% at ratification for top-rate associates in the largest classification.
  • +21.4% total increase in top-rate hourly rates for largest group over the three-year term.

For those moving through the scales with less than three years’ experience, their wage increases would follow this schedule:

Healthcare Proposal

  • Affordable Healthcare, Guaranteed: Your weekly healthcare contributions are protected and will not exceed 12% over the life of the agreement. Plus, any year-to-year increase will be capped at no more than 10%, giving you peace of mind and predictable costs.

Finally, the Union and Company reached a couple more tentative agreements on language items related to holidays, holiday pay, and paid time off selection, reflecting our shared commitment to collaboration and progress at the bargaining table. The next scheduled bargaining session will be held on Tuesday, October 14, through Thursday, October 16.
